About

A Long Standing Family Business

Bate and Bate is a long standing family business with a continuous line of father and son participants carrying on the family ‘lifestyle’ of domestic building in the Northern suburbs and Northern beaches of Sydney.

The current principal and director of Bate and Bate Pty Ltd, Andrew Bate, who learned his trade at his father’s side completed his carpentry and joinery apprenticeship followed by the Clerk of Works and book keeping courses and gained his Builders Licence in 1983. Andrew has lived in Clareville and Avalon his entire life.

Through the years Bate and Bate has had one key principle that seems to remain non-negotiable and that is the adherence to quality for the project at hand.

Quality Building Projects

The types and numbers of buildings are varied and great, from small additions all the way through to multi-million dollar new homes and from traditional restorations to contemporary and modern architecture.

Many of the works have involved architecturally supervised contracts for a fixed lump sum.

As we move forward we take with us the principles passed down over many years to us as well as taking on the new developments and requirements of a changing industry such as the use of sustainable materials and products, responsible recycling and sometimes when it is appropriate the reuse of recovered materials.

We are looking forward to many more happy years of engagement in the building industry, being involved with our many returning clients, our skilled and reliable team of trades and contractors and interaction with architects and designers.
